Occupations That Pay At Least $150,000 A Year In The US, Ranked
The largest share of the country's top earners work as lawyers and judges.

Ever wondered which jobs the country's highest earners have? Using the Bureau of Labor Statistics' American Community Survey five-year data from 2017 to 2021, All Star Home ranked the top occupations and industries paying salaries of $150,000 or more in 50 cities around the US.


Key Findings:

  • Most of the country's high earners are lawyers and judges (19.3 percent), managers (16.8 percent) and chief executives (12.8 percent).

  • Computer system design, legal services and financial investing top the list of industries paying at least $150,000 a year.

  • Washington, DC, is home to the most lawyers and judges overall, Little Rock is the city with the highest share of physicians, and Seattle and Miami have the most software developers and chief executives, respectively.

  • On a regional level, the most common high-paying jobs are physicians in the Northwest; physicians in the South; managers in the Southwest; lawyers and judges in the Midwest; and managers in the West.
